The Voice of America (VOA) has published a news report praising a MIchigan Islamic primary school which is part of an Islamic center run by a Shiite imam with ties to the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. The report discusses the Muslim American Youth Academy located in Dearborn MIchigan and which is operated by the Islamic Center of America led by Imam Hassan Qazwini, originally from Iraq. Qawinzi is a member of the Figh Academy of North America (FCNA). FCNA, an organization associated with the Islamic Society of North America, is comprised of Islamic scholars most if not all of whom are associated with the global Muslim Brotherhood. FCNA maintains a relationship with other similar bodies including the European Council for Fatwa and Research and the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Saudi Arabia. The VOA report asserts that the Academy will be an asset to American:
Arabic proficiency has become a national security resource since the terrorist attacks on the United States in 2001. And the academy’ aim is to produce young Americans who can speak fluent Arabic.
